Notice how radically different Paul's rationale is for keeping your cultural distinctives than the rationale current in our day. 1. Lets have enough confidence in Gods call upon us to trust Him in it, and to let Him use it, and to even thank Him for it. That place that we were in when He called us was no accident. This doctrine of effectual calling changes what we expect out of life. A believing husband should not divorce his unbelieving wife, and a believing wife should not divorce her unbelieving husband.
